Just looking is a boutique woman’s fashion brand with stores located in Palmerston North and Wanganui, New Zealand.  The brief was to modernise the current retail spaces by creating a clean chic contemporary retail environment appropriate for a high street fashion brand.  As both sites offered unique size and proportional limitations careful strategic spatial planning of cabinetry, fixtures, mirrors and lighting was essential to achieve sophisticated and spacious environments.  The interior design made use of high quality materials such as solid oak timber, timber veneer,  glass, white corian, white painted walls and ceiling and also made careful use of existing structural elements by polishing concrete floors.  Feature bamboo lights designed by David Trubridge are used over the point of sale counters to reinforce the feel of contemporary New Zealand design, and feature lighting was incorporated into the wall panels and mirrors, providing lightness, volume and visual breadth to the environment.
